A 4 McNugget one to boot.A happy meal being $5.39 makes me sad.
Have no idea why you'd re-sign Daniel Jones to a huge contract. Then again, I wouldn't have paid Prescott all that money.
Teams are so fucking desperate for relevance that they'll keep any old shitty veteran rather than have to draft and develop multiple times.
"Let's make Dak the highest paid player in football because he's not as bad as Daniel Jones and we probably can't find anyone better than him" is a helluva way to run a team. The reason you pay all that money to Prescott is because of guys like former first round pick Daniel Jones.

That's a wilfully ignorant reading of what I said.
The point isn't that he's not as bad as Jones, it's that Dak is difficult to replace at his skill level.
Even first rounders like Jones or Young or a host of other busts are no guarantee to be anywhere close to what Dak gives you, and there's a good chance it'll be much worse.
:hattip
But if you wanna win a championship, you gotta do it, even if it means regressing in the short term. After eight years, it's clear that Dak has a ceiling, and it ain't the Super Bowl. You can't be scared that the next guy might be worse.

It's not about being scared it's about being smart.

There's nothing smart about settling or paying a good player like he's great. It's not about being scared it's about being smart.
It's not smart to lock yourself into a guy who can't do it.
Before yesterday morning, the board consensus was not to pay Dak. Now that we're stuck with him for four more years, it's suddenly "smart."It's not smart to lock yourself into a guy who can't do it.

The same thing was said about Matt Stafford. After eight years, it's clear that Dak has a ceiling, and it ain't the Super Bowl.
