He seemed to get increasingly bitter in the last several years.

Back in the day I loved the guy.

Yeah, he was much better 10 years ago. He's just not in it anymore, and his shows reflect that.

Yep, between him and Leno, that era has passed. Or will pass once Letterman does retire.
 
Don't watch him. He comes on too late. I am in bed already and up and around by 5:00 am.
 
He was a hero when I was growing up.

I remember watching his show during my adolescence in the early 90's.

It was a good show back then.

I agree. No way do I think Conan should have gotten it. He just isn't very good, IMO.

Is he going to be in character like on Comedy Central?

Don't know if he can pull that off on CBS.

And if he isn't in character, who knows what kind of host he'll make.
