I have no doubt that this was simply Rodgers didn't like his head coach. So Rodgers decided he was getting a different head coach.

Yeah, I don't think this all that complicated. Saleh overall has been an abject failure regardless of what Rodgers did or didn't have to do with this.

People will point to his overall record and use that to justify the firing, but I think the last 22 games shouldn't be held against him.

His side of the ball has performed very well. I'm struggling to see how it's his fault that the offense couldn't figure things out during that timeframe. If you are head coach with a defensive background, and you have a QB with an inflated ego like Aaron Rodgers, you're pretty much just told to sit in the corner and color and don't interject with what the QB and OC are doing.

Maybe if they didn't force arguably the worst OC in the NFL and multiple washed up former Packers down Saleh's throat they'd have been able to score a few more points and squeeze out a few more wins. They knew Hackett was a bottom-tier offensive mind before they brought him in. But they did it anyway just because Rodgers likes him. Then they had the nerve to be shocked and angry when the offense looked anemic.

Feels like this was more of a firing based on personality conflicts rather than actual production. Because if it we're holding people accountable for their actual job performance, they'd have allowed Saleh to demote Hackett, which is what he reportedly wanted to do before he got fired himself.

I think the Head Coach should be held accountable for both sides of the ball, regardless of his area of expertise.

The team was a failure before bringing in Rodgers and they're probably underperforming now.

I wouldn't have fired Saleh mid season and certainly don't think it was handled in the right way.

But I can't say that Saleh has done a good job or that the Jets failures during his entire tenure haven't been his fault or that he doesn't deserve to be fired.
