Well they do need to learn this. You should have seen the attire of the people coming in for interviews for my department this week. Had a guy show up in womens shorts. Backward caps. Clothes that are one stop away from being used for rags.

Yeah, but that's different. I think it's silly to make kids dress up for class.

It is a simple behavior. It is a bit silly but it is a measure of discipline that is sorely needed. Otherwise just show up in a bonnet and PJs and expect that job interview to pass.
 
I live in an upper middle class suburb and I can’t tell you how many white kids I see walking to school from their upper middle class suburban homes in fucking crocs and pajama bottoms. It’s pathetic. I would not allow them into the building.

My point is there are 50 bigger things to tackle first more important than their dress. As long as they aren't dressed inappropriate how about we start with education first, and work towards looking good?

Yep, and when I start seeing the sensible legit educating happening I will be happy to scream for tucking in shirts, but until then this seems silly and superfluous.
 
Well, thanks to NC school choice, I send my kids to a private school where they actually teach important subjects like math, reading and actual US History instead of Marxist propaganda, and also non important subjects that are nonetheless brain enhancing, like Latin, and they make them wear uniforms. It’s the fucking best.

Somehow I feel these things go hand in hand, and many bygone Civil rights era leaders such as Martin Luther King would agree on that. You dress how you want people to treat you instead of demanding people respect your bozo appearance.

It's not about looking good, it's about having discipline and following rules, and taking your education and future seriously.

It's like when Jordan Peterson says clean your room. It's not about cleaning your room.

Exactly. I don't think they're making them wear suits or anything. Just not allowing them to look like total slobs. Which is probably a positive thing.
