Gosselin: Tony Romo the better passer, but Peyton Manning the better quarterback

How on earth could he be in Elway's class...ever?

Elway took deeply flawed football teams to Super Bowls. Lost them, but he got them there.

Romo has had similar deeply flawed teams and failed on multiple occasions to take hoist them on his back and get them over the hump.d

He will never ever be Elway even before his final breakthrough.

Hell, he's got a ways to go before becoming Danny White.

To be fair, the paragraph says he is Elway IF Romo wins a ring.

That may be hyperbole, but it is hard to deny that Romo's legacy looks much much different if he wins a ring.

Still not superior to Elway, who took many teams to Super Bowls. Romo would have to have a string of four before his career ends and it ain't happening.

Defense played like crap. And yet with a tie game in the final 2 minutes, Romo shat the bed yet again.

Equal blame.

When your own coach says you made the wrong read/throw and it was the crucial play of the game...yeah, you deserve some of the blame, probably more than half.

I just get astonished that people are like, you can't blame Romo, at all, and if you do, you are just another hater.

I agree he deserves some of the blame, but the defense deserves half at least. That was a horrid performance following another horrid performance.

I can't think of anyone who wasn't completely disgusted with the defense yesterday. And if Romo had avoided giving them the football in field goal range, and we still lost...he'd be a fricking hero today. Then "moral victories" might actually count. But he didn't.

Right... equal blame.

The defense was horrid the entire game. You can't say that about the QB's.

Romo deserves part of the blame. If you don't feel that way I'm not sure what to tell you.

Not saying he doesn't. What I am saying is he Isn't the primary reason the game was lost. The offense performed very well 90 % of the game but the defense was in quicksand the entire game.

Tough to say how much blame either the defense or Romo deserves.

Both made mistakes that if corrected, we would have won. The defense made more.

That doesn't change the fact that Romo had the chance to win it and did not because he screwed up. Again.

Even if Romo deserves some of the blame for the loss (he doesn't), the hypothetical assignment of blame wouldn't even be remotely equal. You are talking about a full 4 quarters of suck versus potentially one play.

Even if Romo deserves some of the blame for the loss (he doesn't)

If you are saying he deserves zero, absolutely zero, blame for the fact the game was lost...I have lost a good bit of respect for you.

See, you're too smart to make a comment this damn dumb.

How the hell can you sit there and say he deserves no blame when it was his turnover in the most critical juncture in the game that set the Broncos up for the game winning score?

The defense sucked and deserves most of the blame in my opinion, but despite all of that, just like last year when everyone tried to blame the defense for the Redskins finale, he was still in a position at the end of the game to win and he blew it with another dumbass throw.

Last year, it took only one play on the final drive to screw up, and this year it took only 2 plays.

You can't take someone serious who says Romo shouldn't be blamed whatsoever for yesterday's loss.

There are some people that just absolutely refuse to blame him for anything.

As I said, while the defense was awful, he was still in a position to win in both contests. I can't believe that making the game clinching mistake in those instances still doesn't warrant blame in the Romo defenders' eyes.

:lol

Oh no! Can't lose the intraweb respect.
