Gameday Chatter Thread - Week 2 | Cowboys v Titans| 09/14/14

Houston... TD to JJ Watt.

just saw that :towel

Yeah, I'm a big fan of his. Not just because he is probably the best defensive player in the game right now, but he is just a really nice guy.

Geno Smith with a perfect pass to Decker for the TD.

Smith was under heavy pressure too.

Very impressive throw.

His style didn't get him hurt. From what I saw he was just rolling outside the pocket, like every other QB in the league does, but he landed wrong and his ankle turned awkwardly.

I'm not sure it was his ankle... when he went to plant his left foot, his leg, just above the ankle, snapped. Probably a tib/fib fracture. Either way tho, he's done for a while.

They are saying dislocated ankle now.

The FOX ticker said RGIII is likely out for the season with that ankle injury.

ESPN - Browns rookie Johnny Manziel made NFL debut vs. Saints, throwing incomplete pass and handing off twice

Good overall game by the defense.

McClain looks like a keeper its been a long time since we had a LB as consistently physical as him, and Crawford has shown some flash as a pass rusher, I can see him as the fulltime starter at RE moving forward.

Shitcan Dunbar, call up Williams. Keep hammering the run with Murray/Williams/Randle. Over and over and over. Pass just enough to keep 'em honest. Take the occasional shot. Defense stays on the sideline.

Profit.

That's our best chance for success. Unfortunately Romo and the coaching staff can't help themselves.

I expect the game plan to be the complete opposite next week, even though we're going up against a banged up Rams defense.

I fully expect to see a full Sports Center segment dedicated to this. They'll bring in Jaws to break down every nuance of those three plays.

I endorse this post.

That performance in the running game was a thing of beauty and exactly what I had in mind when I said that I think this OL has the potential to carry a team if utilized properly. The defense was surprisingly solid as well, they gave up some plays of course but overall the rush defense was solid until we got a lead and were playing the pass, leaving the draws and such open. The tackling was what impressed me most, Church, Wilcox and McClain were all very sure tacklers, and I didn't notice Hitchens screwing up too bad so that's a positive as well.

There were a few times where the DL couldn't get any pressure but overall they were ok, and even though we only had 2 sacks overall the DL did a good job of making Locker move off the spot.

As for Romo, I'm thinking this guy is done. He's inaccurate, doesn't move in the pocket like he used to at all and he doesn't seem to be getting anything on his throws. I have no clue if this will improve or not but if it doesn't, he's certainly done.

All in all, we aren't winning anything anyway but this was an impressive performance. Get a young QB in here, a pragmatic coach who will utilize the OL properly, keep building the defense and we could have something.

This year is going to be Tebow level sickening with the coverage of him.

James Jones for the Raiders just fumbled twice... on the same play.

You must mean LE, because if you mean RE, uh, that's stupid.

Jaws - never mind Kaepernick, Johnny Football is the best QB to ever play the game!
