Not without a complete overhaul, and the only way that could happen is war, unfortunately. They aren't going to vote themselves out with term limits, so...
 
Good Lord. Ticket ticker guy claiming this was a "failed insurrection by Trump terrorists." This was a bunch of absolute morons stupidly thinking they could get away with something without repercussions, like so many others these days who want something exciting to post on social media. But they weren't taking over the USA because they were in the building. He makes it sound like some South American country where all you have to do drive up in a tank, take over the president's office and the lone TV station, and suddenly you're in charge. Come on.

There's also the very obvious tone that if you voted for Trump you are just like those people. Totally absurd and very convenient. Where was Capitol security, anyway? How were there just a few cops outside on such an important day? Was I the only one thinking that a real terrorist could have had blown up the place if he'd wanted to with security that poor?

Last summer, the Associated Press told us that using the word "riot" was problematic and possibly racist, yet I'm seeing "pro-Trump rioters" at Apple News and the "What's trending" box at Twitter. Imagine that.

Same reason they stopped boarding up windows in DC after election day: because conservatives don't have a reputation for being violent. The latest disaster in Georgia was probably the spark.

It isn't fair to blame all Trumpers for this. However, I think you have to understand there is a reason there was so much resistance to Trump as a President because people understood the danger of electing someone with his character. Unfit comes up again and again and again. Even from people who left his cabinet. Shit when Mick Mulvaney bails on you, holy hell...

The reason 80 million voted against him was because they saw him for what he was. No President has ever encouraged an assault on Congress. I get that people hate Congress but this isn't the way. The way is to start electing reasonable middle-of-the-road politicians who can work with others. Will be devastating to cable TV news but oh well...

You are right there. How in the hell was this possible? Everyone knew this was coming I just had no idea they would have had the success they did. When I heard they were bringing in the National Guard a couple days ago I figured the situation was in hand. Not so much...

Heads are gonna roll over this shit.
