Earth May Have Massive Subterranean Water Reservoir

But water existed for a Billion years or so before the first person ever came into existence. So I think Genesis missed the mark on this. Also if there's water, and a sun, there's bound to be an evaporation cycle, that's just physics. That's why you can make it rain in a gym if enough people are sweating.

I really should have done something to better express my sarcasm in my post above.

yeah it sounded like something either of my parents would have thrown out in casual conversation.

I figured my history of posting would have been enough, but when I went back and read it again I realized it could be misconstrued as me defending the bible.

I recalled enough of your bio to get that you were joking.

Just to clarify, the Bible doesnt say there was no water, just no rain. It says there was some water above and below the earth. I've heard this explained as a sort of water/vapor canopy above and water in the depths. Its said this would've caused a tropical greenhouse effect in those days.

So, God didn't create rain?

I sincerely doubt that.

I sincerely doubt that.

Please tell me you are just sincerely doubting making it rain in a gym, because the rest of what he said is absolutely true.

I never knew it rained on Mars. Sure it used to have water on the surface, now it doesn't but I would be willing to bet that water is somewhere on planet. Yet, I hear nothing about rain.

You think our biosphere evolved all the way from a Mars type ecosystem?

Come on.

It has no atmosphere hence no rain.

If the earth had no atmosphere how could there be life?

Also, if it never rained there would be very little vegetation and only in specific areas.

It has an atmosphere, just a very thin one.

The dinosaurs (most of the herbivores) lived on this planet for billions of years. There was rain.
