Eagles Stuff....

I know he's just responding to questions and I know he has to believe in himself but some things you just have to be wise enough to not say out loud when there's this much hate going against you.
Or anytime... Who the hell says this?

I think they were waiting for him to return from a hammy injury. No threat of being cut.

No. I remember that there was talk about him being a disappointment as well. Maybe it was just the media but the bust label was being mentioned.

However, his rookie narrative completely flipped by November. The season-long chatter surrounding him went through two distinct phases: [1, 2]

Phase 1: The Disappointment & "Bust" Talk (Weeks 1–9)
The frustration among fans and media stemmed from a combination of high draft expectations, drops, and injuries: [1, 2]
    • The Week 1 Drop: On the very first offensive play of the season against the Minnesota Vikings, Watson burned his defender but completely dropped a wide-open, perfectly thrown 75-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers. This play set a negative tone for his career start.
    • Injury Struggles: Watson suffered multiple hamstring issues and a concussion early on, preventing him from building chemistry with Rodgers.
    • Lack of Production: Through his first six active games, he failed to cross 34 yards or 3 receptions in any single contest, fueling fan concern that the Packers had missed on a second-round pick they traded up to get. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Phase 2: The Breakout (Week 10 Onward)
The "disappointment" talk quickly vanished in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys: [1, 2]
    • The Cowboys Game: Despite dropping two passes early in that game, Watson exploded for three touchdowns.
    • Historic Rookie Run: He followed that up with two more touchdowns against the Titans four days later. He went on to score 8 total touchdowns over a 4-game span, winning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November. [1, 2, 3, 4]
