Jernigan in the top 5? Yikes.

He has always been very highly thought of. It's hard to get the last impression of him out of my mind though, and that was the National Championship game when he was sitting on the sideline in crucial situations because he was gassed. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth with him. Of course I still like him better then Floyd from last year.

He's got the QB skills to be the 1st one taken, but his size will limit him and that's what is scaring teams away. At least Manziel brings a special playmaking ability to offset his size. Bortles will be a HOFer.

I expect him to run really well. He didn't do much in college with his legs but he actually has the speed to take off and go a long distance. If he doesn't run that fast I don't think it will necessarily hurt him since he was basically a pocket passer in college but if he blazes it I could see it give him a serious bump in the draft stock.

I expect all 3 QBs to run well, so I don't think that will separate any of them from the other 2. I think Bortles will measure in close to 6"6 and he'll be more accurate than some think which will give him the nod over Bridgewater. Manziel is just a wildcard.

But the whole film is graded and you rarely get the production his physical gifts warrant. Made many plays when he was unblocked. He was on a play count most of the year because of injury. Has an explosive arm-over move that you seldom see. Can completely dominate a portion of a game or can be walled off by a tight end. His 40 tackles, 3 sacks, and 11.5 tackles for loss are underachieving for the rare talent.

The rangy scheme diverse linebacker plays low with good knee bend and hip flexibility. Almost impossible to hook with his long arms, lateral agility, and good athletic ability. Can run down plays from the backside. Barr collected 65 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles in 2013.

We love mock drafts. But let's face reality: Any mock draft done before the NFL Scouting Combine, pro day workouts and free agency lacks all the necessary information.
But at least it's a start. And that's what Mock No. 1 is for me. I watch a ton of college football during the season -- probably more than most college football writers since I am bunkered in a hotel room every Saturday afternoon with a TV, a remote and a laptop in front of me.
I make a lot of player evaluations based on what I see each week, but until the combine and the interviews and the team gossip, plus the All-22 tapes are made available it's hard to lock in on guys.
I am not one to put a lot of stock in a combine workout, but if a corner or receiver were to run a 4.8, it would be a red flag.
The tape is what evaluations are all about. Any good general manager will tell you that.
But this is the silly season, a time when proclamations about top picks being decided already are made, which is pure foolishness. Nobody has done that yet -- especially without an Andrew-Luck-type player in this draft.
Let the process play out. We have three more months to play the Mock Draft Game. There will be a lot of them. So don't overreact to this one.
