Defensive Coordinator Candidates

So it's obviously only a matter of time until Eberflus is gone, let's see your rankings of who we want to replace him. For now I'm just going to assume that everyone that is a tossup (Bowles, etc.) become available:

1. Brian Flores
2. Todd Bowles
3. Jim Schwartz
4. Jim Leonhard
5. Leslie Frazier
6. Jonathan Gannon
7. Al Harris
8. Raheem Morris
9. Mike Pettine
10. Christian Parker (fuck it, if the cupboard is this bare let's just poach a few coaches from the Eagles defensive staff and hope it fucks them a bit)
Bowles stays. Flores goes to the highest bidder.

After that, woof.

Flores could get a HC job too, you never know.

I'd be happy with any number of those names though, but I'm kind of leaning towards fresh blood with someone like Leonhard who has spent most of his time focused on the secondary and the "passing game", which was obviously the most glaring weakness this year.

Maybe keep Whitecotton and bring a few assistants from Denver and we could have something.

Leonhard would be okay. I just really am not all jacked about getting some retread like Frazier or something.

Depending on how many Eagles assistants one of them could bring over I kind of like the idea of hollowing out their defensive staff, just to be petty.

Their offense is only going to get worse, so might as well try to hit the only thing propping up their moron HC/QB.

Rolling the dice on some guys who worked under Fangio is probably as good as anything once you get away from the top 3-5 on my list.

Who is the best at making chicken salad? Because there is a whole bag of nothing on this defense aside from DT, and whatever these morons do in the first round combined with the fuck all they will do in FA means we need a wizard at the position. Like, don't give me anyone from the Texans with their best DEs and best CBs in the league tandems. Leonhard, presumably. Others?

I want the Bills DC. Everyday he has to practice against the GGOAT. Iron sharpens Iron.

Stefanski just got fired by the way, no idea if he takes Schwartz with him if he gets another HC spot, but Schwartz is officially out there.

I agree with that list in the order

Jerry will just walk around the building in 2 weeks, run into Whitecotton, decide he likes the cut of his jib (something about that last name...) and miraculously find that the best guy was here all along.

You know, like he did with Schottenheimer.

This saying perplexes and irritates me at the same time.

I imagine half of those names will be gone before Eberflus is fired and the other half will never get a call like Derrick Henry.

I just wish they would say, Eberflus, you're fired. Schottenheimer, you've been around long enough, networked long enough and know the NFL coaching landscape well enough, tell us who you want as the defensive coordinator.

At least at the end of the day then you can hold Schottenheimer liable for the success or failure of the team. It's just fucked up to not let a head coach pick his defensive coordinator. Your going to go to war with the guy. At least make sure it's someone you'll be on the same page with.
