We have started etching on slate. This is like test number 15. This one finally turned out decent. Hopefully, we have figured out the recipe. This is a coaster. In person you can see all of the etched portion. I'm hoping after the sealant (poly) dries it will make the etching stand out a little more.

Fuck, the sealant messed it up. I was wrong about the poly. We used a satin paint sealant. The same we used to prep it. We are going to try poly on the next one. I hope this works. A set of slate coasters custom etched would be fucking badass.

Thanks, man. Those sell for about 8 bucks a piece (customized) on Etsy. On that one piece I posted we have $.92 in material and about 15 mins of human labor. The machine did the rest of the work. It took it about 45 minutes to do that one. That's about a 92% profit margin. I'll take it.
