DCC Appreciation Thread...

This is where we are, now the dictionary sanctions the incorrect usage of a word.

My question is, why are they shouting it at us?

I think that's always been true.
It would be in the dictionary, but they would point out that it was incorrect.

Now they seem to say that people use it that way, so therefore it's just as acceptable as anything else.

And reading that thread, whoever runs their Twitter account acts like an angry 14 year old. Not a good look for them.

I was thinking the same thing. I think they're trying to follow the trend of having a sassy social media presence.

If it's Wendy's it's whatever, but it's definitely not a good look for a dictionary.

"Ain't in the dictionary cause it ain't no word"

Anyone else remember this?

I think it is now. At least with ain't though, you can squint and see the reasoning behind it.

This though, it's literally ignorant people incorrectly using a form of a word.

It's the same as when they put the incorrect usage of "literally" in the dictionary because so many people misuse the word. It's just throwing up your hands and giving in to the morons.

The day they put low key in with the incorrect usage is the day Alexa takes over my posts.

I'd like to also see people who do those annoying in-store pranks on unsuspecting shoppers get hefty jail sentences for being public nuisances. Nothing extreme.....mandatory 24-month sentences would suffice.

People should have the right to peacefully grocery shop without some dumbass harassing them for TikTok "clout".

I always cheer when they pull one of those pranks on the wrong person and some big dude ends up slapping the piss out of them. Those instances warm my heart.
