Dak Watch Thread...

Not being a smartie but that is true of most QBs. If you have a mediocre group around them they are less effective. Hurts has arm strength, speed, size and is pretty accurate with high quality training at big time schools. The only times he seemed overwhelmed was when superior defenses neutralized the team. And that wasn't often.

What I mean by "struggle" is not do well at this level. I don't think he's going to be a good NFL qb.

And FWIW I still don’t believe Doug Pederson is particularly better than Garrett. And I expect McCarthy to run circles around him despite being 350 pounds.
He is infinitely better than Garrett. He has the Lombardi to prove it.

Well... according to the NFL (after the fact) he probably could/should have.
Like GB wouldn't have scored again even if Dez catch had counted

Someone was the mastermind behind riding a career backup in Foles to the Super Bowl where he outdueled Brady and put up about 400 yards passing. Doesn't matter whether it was Pedersen or Reich, whoever it was is infinitely better than what Dak has had his entire career here.

Do you mean at the pro level? He may not but I guess that is yet to be determined

I think his point was that it was Frank Reich that masterminded the SB run, not Pederson.

Yeah.

I think Pederson got outcoached head to head against Garrett a couple times actually.

But the anti Garrett brigade around here goes into attack mode if you say or imply anything that isn’t downright scathing of his tenure here.

It’s lack of nuance and fanatical intransigence is the deadest giveaway of being simply wrong.

Doesn’t mean Garrett was any great coach, but, well, you see the reactions.

Ok hold your fucking horses here :lol
We beat him quite a few times but it was the talent discrepancy, Garrett was running the same "beat the man across from you" basic bullshit he has always run

Our wins had fuckall to do with "outcoaching"

Get out of here with this. We aren't talking about scathing. We are talking about a ridiculous proposition that you think Garrett could be a better head coach than Pederson. Don't pretend like you don't realize what you're saying is preposterous.

It's no different then someone on here saying Campo was a better coach than Garrett. It would throw you into a tizzy.

We should’ve extended Garrett then traded him for two 1st rounders.

Garrett was getting head coaching jobs thrown at him like panties at a Pendergass concert.

Assuming Dak doesn’t sign the franchise tender, do you prefer:
A. Starting the season with Andy Dalton as starter
B. Signing Dak for four years, $35M per.

No, I don't agree.

You cannot pretend to have some complete understanding of Garrett's schemes just by calling it "beat the man across from you." It cannot be boiled down into one uninformed sentence. There are still tendencies they plan for, individual play calls to account for, in-game decisions that are made, etc.

I do think Garrett outcoached Pederson a few times. That doesn't mean he's some great coach. My point here is actually, I don't think Pederson is all that good.

Lombardi or not.

B, and it's not particularly close for me.
