Cowboys Nostalgia Thread

are you saying that prior to 1995, blue was never worn at home? That seems strange (25 years).

you could consider SB V the exception. We were home team at neutral site and home team had to be dark

Alternate jerseys aside, that first blues at home game was just several years ago for thanksgiving

thats wild. Its like someone didnt like the blues.

How the fuck you people remember, or even care about, uniform colors blows my mind.

I think it was Turkey Day 2005

Thx 2013, 14, 16, 17 for the regular blues.

For the double-outlined star on shoulders (not the throwbacks) paired with regular helmets, Thx 2001, 02 and 03. 1-2 record

For the throwback plain star on shoulders, wore them 2004-2012 until NFL banned alternate colored helmets

have you been appointed board historian yet?

Just remembered that Frisco made us wear blue in '79. Not sure if they wore white @ home any other time that season.

Including 2022 our playoff record 1970-2022, Road and Neutral

Blues: 2-5
Whites: 13-12
Alternate Double Star Shoulders: 0-1

name all the games for 7 blues and 1 alternate without looking it up

That was a Schramm thing that they didn't wear blue uniforms at home after '63. Apparently he wanted the fans to see the colors of all the NFL teams when they came to Dallas, it had nothing to do with a "jinx" when he made that decision.

Personally, if they went back to the old blue/old white jerseys with the serif numbers I would be happy with that.

I just don't like how dark the navy has gotten.

Those late 80s/early 90s navy jersey's were not this dark.

In fact, even this very same navy jersey we wear today was not as dark in its earlier iterations.

If you watch this video from the 2000 season, you can tell that the shade is lighter, especially if you fast forward to the 2:50 mark during the Dexter Coakley mic'd up session of the video. They zoom in close and you can see it's lighter than it is now.

I really wish that we'd go back to lighter shade of blue because what we wear now looks more like midnight blue than navy blue.

It's too damn dark.

I cannot recall a single home game with blue jerseys until we wore it all the time a couple of years ago.
