Free agency is what caused this change more than anything.Nope, injuries and short contracts have changed the NFL landscape. Hell most players don't even want to sign anything longer than 4 years anymore. And with the cap as soon as a guy gets older he isn't playing up to his contract and he moves on to another team. It's unfortunate but that's the way of the NFL today.

It’s the world not just the NFL in the terms of loyalty …players won’t sign long term contracts and won’t stay loyal to one team in case shit goes sideways … same as the real world … everybody keeps there options open because companies treat you like number …today’s NFL has changed just like the outside world … it’s a fuckin shameIt's all about getting back to the negotiating table as many times as possible in a career.
