Cowboys Nostalgia Thread

for example I never knew Jerry almost got involved with Jimmy Hoffa and bought the Chargers instead. Maybe that was common knowledge but I never heard that.

He was always a brown nose.

What Romo doesn't realize or is failing to realize is that having a REAL coach could have made the difference in those plays/quarters he alluded to.

But BECAUSE of Jerry Jones, he played his career under puppet coaches like Wade Phillips & Jason Garrett who were actually counter-productive to his goal of winning a championship.

Because of the lackluster coaches he played under, it basically made it to where 80% of the games he played in throughout his career, he did so with no coaching edge over his opponents.

He just cant criticize Jerry or see him as a problem because he's too close to him and that family in general.

You could have just typed FAMILY PORTRAIT.

I understand Romo's comment, though. That's what a competitor should think, that he is responsible and he should have done better.

And even if he knows better, it wouldn't sound very good for him to blame Jerry or coaching or anyone else.

Yep, Romo is holding himself accountable to a fault, especially for 2006. He had an injured OL but a solid enough defense and of course, great coaching that year. TO and Glenn in their prime, Barber and Jones at RB

We see it from the outside, but Romo lived it for 14 years. I think he holds himself to blame far more than Jerry

I have a feeling that this is gonna piss me off, but I am succumbing to my fanhood and starting the goddamn documentary with cruel intent.

He has won, I will watch.

I will post you all with updates on my emotional state accordingly.
I refuse because Jerry may receive extra compensation if i watch it

I'm halfway through Ep3. They just showed Jerry at the Jones family graveyard. Soon.

The fact that it is in episodic form is very fitting. The parallels to star wars is plainly evident.

For example, in episode 3, a yellow eyed, hate filled Jerry betrays and murders the supporters who built the legacy and environment that allowed him to thrive in the first place.

As the "football guy," did Jimmy want the GM role? If Jerry had replaced Schramm with a Howie Roseman type, it seems like Jimmy would have clashed with him too.

He would rather have some former waiter and his hick son handle things.
