Those four are what happens when you draft for position and it just isn't there.

In 1996 it was even worse, stubbornly drafting that position regardless even after you've been schooled and your targeted guy is already gone.

In 1996 with Tony Brackens miraculously falling into our laps, we got cute and traded down from 30 to 37 and gained a 3rd round pick (67). A naive drafter like Jerry Jones thought he'd made out in value, but he didn't account for the high value of Brackens himself and how he'd have been a straight up bargain well before pick 30.

Jacksonville of course snapped Brackens up at pick 33.

Dallas of course knee-jerk picked Pittman with one of the craziest reaches I've ever seen in an attempt to replace Charles Haley, and Jones "coached" the whole war room to raise and shake their arms in a cheer for the ESPN cameras. They all looked more like a room full of idiots than I can ever recall. A bleak moment for our franchise, honestly, and unfortunately one of many we've seen over the years.

Oh yeah, that 3rd round pick 67: Clay fucking Shiver, Center, and personally responsible for more Troy Aikman pain than just about anyone.

Haircut, which is a service, sure. A rug though? No reason to get a rug that still makes you look pretty bald when you have plenty of cash to get a good looking one.

Also, I get the impression that Jerry is much more vain than Davis.

There was a close in scene with press where something brushed against Jerry’ hair and you can see the whole piece move
