Cowboys Cuts

I think what booze is trying to say is that the longer they wait, the more it is an indication that they think the players on the bottom of the roster are actually "worth a shit." Like they are actually deliberating the merits of each third tackle candidate, when the reality is that none of them belong in the NFL. The reality is we should be dumping them all, making Parnell the third tackle, and looking for a starting RT on the waiver wire or via trade.

It's a valid point. Instead of dicking around with worthless players, we should be looking externally to improve.

Yep I agree time to move on, stop justifying why just maybe this or that player isn't a total loss. To expand on what booze said this is the problem with having a gm/owner he has to be involved in everything and you never know he may just be too busy with adding the next big thing to jerryworld right now when he should only be concerned with making the team better

LB Tank Reed has tweeted he has been cut. Edawn Coughman too.

I wonder if Jerry personally sat down with them to tell them they were cut like he does on Hard Knocks.

Surely he wasn't just doing that to ham it up for the camera in order to get more face time. Not my Jerry.

I don't know where else to put this, but Broaddus is tweeting that we are on the phones actively looking to move a couple of guys.

Any guesses?

Escobar to the Pats for a 4th? Would you do it?

I can't actually fathom who on this team has any trade value that we'd actually be willing to part with.

Ernie Sims maybe?

I can't for the life of me think of anyone worth anything.

You see, that's the issue.

I bet, right now, Jerry is doing something. Stephen is doing something.

Neither of which is getting this team better.

I bet there is a short meeting in the morning tomorrow, they announce the last of these cuts and they are fucking left in the dust like they usually are.

Pat Kirwan made a point today. He stated at cut down day, just get rid of the players you know you don't want, right away. It clears your thought process and you can start anew.

We are still debating the slimy end of this shithole roster. These fucktards are actually sleeping on them.

They're probably calling around trying to move some of them.

It has to be kind of bittersweet if you are a GM and the phone lights up with a number from the Cowboys. I mean you might get an offer for a couple of starters for a 4th round pick like the Dolphins did with Akin and Fasano. Or you might get Jerry trying to get you to give up a draft pick for David Arkin. Or maybe you could interest him on some scrub on your roster. Or maybe you can troll him about how locking up Ratliff was a pretty sharp decision and how you're eyeing Jason Hatcher so you hope Jerry doesn't lock him up long term.

So, it could be really good for you, but in most cases it is probably just annoying and a waste of time.

Cowboys waived WR Tim Benford.

Per FOX Sports, the Cowboys are "hoping" Benford clears waivers so they can stash him on the practice squad. The 2012 undrafted free agent caught 11 passes for 135 yards this preseason

Oh, who is Aaron Wilson? Why would the Cowboys work out players on a Friday? I don't believe it!

:lol

Broaddus is suggesting they are carrying six safeties. SIX SHITTY SAFETIES??????

It is unfortunate for Moore. I think the guy makes plays.

Yes, thank God, I was worried we weren't going to have enough safeties, another masterstroke from our God GM.

I am serious...six? I get Wilcox as a reserve. They just got McCray to take a salary cut for ST. What is the hard choice between Heath and Frampton? What makes both work keeping? Make a fricking decision.

I personally would have kept Moore as a swing corner/safety as he has been much of his career and claimed a fifth corner off waivers.

I know we chuckle about CBs, but five is pretty much a standard on most teams.
