Teams are just playing a deep shell on us. They aren't coming after Romo, or pressing us, or anything high pressure. They're sitting back and seeing if we can sustain drives, break tackles, keep moving the chains. Every time we start to, Ronald Leary or Jeremy Parnell holds, Jason and Cole Beasley false start, or one of our "playmakers" drops a ball Romo put right in his hands. So we can never force them out of it and actually have a chance of going deep.
 
We certainly aren't taking any shots at all. Seems like that'd be a good reason to try to run more though.

It doesn't have to be another Parcells, but it has to be a guy that we can look at and say, "Yeah, he's a definite winner, he's gonna be a very good head coach." I don't think you can say that about Gus Bradley or Mike McCoy, they are simply hot coordinators but plenty of them fail every year. I don't see any difference between them and Chan Gailey or Leslie Frazier or whoever. In my mind there is a difference between them and a guy like Rex Ryan, who was not just a hot coordinator but a guy who everyone kinda thought of as a very good up and coming head coach prospect who just got passed over for some reason. Now, Rex Ryan hasn't worked out exactly after his first 2 years (though I think he's a good coach who is hampered by bad personnel up there), but when I see a guy like that, I will be more willing to go after him.

We DON'T try that....picks downfield are usually because Romo throws the ball into double coverage or doesn't place the ball where it needs to be.

I'm talking a downfield go route.

Yes I know what a go route is, thanks. Do you really think we aren't even running them? Romo isn't shy about letting the ball go. But you can't just "run Terrence Williams on a 9, and throw it deep no matter what" like you were talking above. Because "even if it's incomplete" isn't the worst case scenario there.

Well, I'm one of 3 people in this thread alone that's says we aren't taking shots downfield. If you watch NFL Network, they were dissecting the Cowboys playcalling and they commented on the fact the WR's are running short routes so Romo can get the ball out of his hands quicker. But, that's not working either- because most of the time its only a 5 yard gain.
