Colts Stuff...

Porter may just be a huge turd.

This is what was said that he would do on a few things I read after we traded for him.

Pay the motherfucker. He's obviously shut down CB.
What if he's always hurt and won't push himself to get on the field?

I don't blame him.

For most of my life as a sports fan, I just blindly supported teams. But as I've gotten older, I have more of an appreciation for the athlete (when warranted).

Imagine you're JPJ or that your son is in his shoes.

He's a big time talent and has a chance to make life-changing money next year. He's currently on the last year of his rookie deal and the team he got traded to has no shot at winning a championship or going on any kind of run this season, and if you go by their recent history, very rarely do they strike big deals with players they acquire from outside of the organization.

Are you going to risk suffering a major injury and ruining your shot to get big money next year for THIS?

I certainly wouldn't.

It would be different if we had paid him or if we were 6-2 and looking looking like a SB contender, but neither of those things are true so I get his hesitance to risk himself -- if in fact that is what he's doing.

Shit, if I were in his position I'd be cautious too.

Then you get into the whole money means more than winning debate. If I was spending the money I sure would take that into consideration.

Yeah you run into the concern in those situations that the player gets the big pay day and then doesn't really have the same work ethic. You worry about the Bland/Diggs results.

Yeah, I get that. But I think it's different for a guy who has already been paid big at least once in his career and a young guy like JPJ who hasn't gotten his chance at the big contract yet.

Someone will pay him next year because there's always a market for elite players.

So the smart thing for him to do is to be cautious which is what I would do in his shoes.

Maybe, but that's not necessarily true for everyone.

There's plenty of guys who just need to feel secure to make those sorts of sacrifices and JPJ could very well be one of them.

Absolutely. And I would pay the man. We have just been burned at corner in recent years. I don't think JPJ has the type of personality that someone like Diggs had.

He's already made almost 10 million dollars and even in the worst case scenario he's about to make a ton more than that. I'm not feeling too sorry for him.

Honestly this whole conversation is purely speculative with essentially zero actual evidence that Porter is purposely faking an injury due to unhappiness over his contract.

On the contrary he actually seems like he's been pushing himself trying to play.

Given that he has already missed time over it, if he was faking the injury to try to sit out he wouldn't have played at all the past couple weeks, since he has a built-in excuse.

I mean, he did fake the back injury with the Steelers... Just like Micah, the instant he was traded he was fine.

And the question isn't if he's totally making up the ankle, more not pushing through to play with it when everyone else is banged up to some degree.

I get that he loses credibility because he clearly was bullshitting with Pittsburgh.

I'm just saying he has pushed through the injury since he's played since he's been on the injury report.

If he wanted to dog it I don't think he'd have played at all.
