Remember that all of the former Heisman trophy winners also get a vote and they had to vote for him to win. I seriously doubt all those guys were swayed by that in any way.

Hell, Charles Woodson said recently how impressed he was by what Hunter was doing and said what he did for Michigan back in 97 fails significantly in comparison to what Hunter has been doing.

Hunter is a a deserving winner. He's the first legitimate two-way player in college football in God knows how long.

And not only does he play both sides of the ball, he plays them both at impressive levels.

That is the main reason why he got the votes, not the Deion angle.

And the final vote was one of the closest in a while, which I don't think is a coincidence when you have two historic seasons.

But one of those historic seasons led to a playoff bye for a one loss team, where that single loss came on the road to the top ranked team in the country by a last second FG.

That's more deserving than Hunter being a singularly amazing player on a 3 loss team and I think the media hype is probably what made up the difference in a thin margin race.

Yeah, that historic season occurred at Boise State and against competition that wasn't exactly the best in the country, and I'm sure that played a part in swaying votes too.

If he had the same season at a big school then I'm guessing he probably does win the Heisman.

But doing what he did at Boise St. I'm sure played a part in him not getting sufficient votes.

I haven't even watched the game yet. I recorded it and plan on watching it sometime this week.

Coming into the game I thought Army would roll easily. Navy had kind of a down year and this was probably Army's best team in decades. So when I saw the final score I was pretty shocked to see that Navy won easily.

They beat Washington St., Oregon St. and lost by 3 at Oregon after leading for a good chunk of the game.

Their schedule wasn't that much different than Colorado's who played most of the dregs of what remains of the Big 12.

I stand by my opinion that if Hunter played for some other random 3-4 loss team in the top 25 that didn't make the playoff, he wouldn't have won.
 
Not that he's undeserving, but I think the Deion hype is a huge part of it. We've been bombarded with that for two solid years now. It has an effect on people.

Yea I don't think Hunter is undeserving per se, I think both he and Jeanty would've won at least 5 of the last 10 or so Heismans. The issue is that I think Jeanty is much more deserving given his team's accomplishments.

There's a reason that Barry fucking Sanders' record has stood for nearly 40 years.

But I think you can also argue that it worked against them.

I saw a TON of national media members and CFB writers, a good portion of which probably have Heisman votes, openly root against Colorado.

IMO, the detractors probably cancelled out any bump he might have received from Deion's presence.

Maybe so.

I know that I am not a Deion fan at all, but I wouldn't hold that against one of his players. I have nothing against Hunter himself.

I meant it more that I think playing for Deion has people thinking that Hunter is another Deion, because Deion was a two-way player also. But Hunter is no Deion.

One obvious issue that YouTube TV should've addressed a while ago is multiviews that have different types of sports.

Every once in a while they'll have a multiview with two different types of sports, but primarily they stick to mixes that are all CFB, all NFL, all NBA, etc.

This weekend is the perfect weekend for a NBA, CFB, NFL channel mix.

Good question. I don't know if it's just for this game, but I love it when teams don't have names on their jerseys.
