Coaching and GM hirings and firings

I'm not sure why but I don't feel super stoked about this guy as a head coaching candidate. Maybe he just hasn't been a big name for long enough.

It's because he was almost fired last year and is basically just riding the coattails of a dominant DL that was mostly built before he got there. And their defense has also fallen off a bit over the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, in Dallas..................... :crickets:

They instantly got better IMO.

His biggest problem is he doesn't know how to fix an offense. He was saddled with flamboyant Cam Newton in Carolina and he will have the same problem in Washington with a bust at QB. Ultimately their defense will get better but they will probably never be a good team with Rivera.

I think it all depends on who they bring in at OC and how much free rein he'll be given. Rivera was a good hire for them.

I think he ends up in New York. Just seems like the best opportunity for him.

Best for him but not best for my xmas wishes

Rivera knows defense but is he really any better than a generally average/above average HC?

Sure, they'll be better with him considering the clown show they are right now but are they really going to do any better than their standard 8-8/7-9/fluke 9-7 or 10-6 playoff appearance/6-10 dance that they've been doing for 15 years?

He'll have them hovering around 8-8 most years, and I'm sure there will be a playoff appearance mixed in here and there when the rest of the division is down, but I don't see him turning them into a real contender, especially not with shit bird Haskins at QB.

Not sure this is exactly a positive for them.
