Report: Browns, McDaniels staying in touch

McDaniels could still be considering Browns' job

Aaron Wilson

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is still talking with the Cleveland Browns about their head coaching vacancy, according to ESPN Cleveland.

McDaniels has said he plans to remain with the Patriots.

Per the report, McDaniels and the Browns have had more discussions and he's "possibly back in the mox" for the job.

The Browns have also been talking with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano and Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.
---------------------

This would be the best thing to happen to the Browns even though McDaniels is far from an ideal candidate.

At least now they can say he is the guy they wanted all along.

McDaniels might be reconsidering since a bunch of Patriot coaches have either retired (including great OL coach Dante Scarnecchia), quit (LB coach Pepper Johnson) or taken a job with the Texans (TE coach George Godsey).

I can't believe Pettine is the guy...I mean he must have been about their 10th choice.

Steelers officially hire Munchack as their OL coach.

Somewhere, Iamtdg is laughing at them...and people are laughing at him with his missing teeth.

:lol

"Wait, why are we firing our coach after one season?

"Mike Pettine is available!"

"Why didn't you say so! Chud, you're outta here!"

This is a brilliant hire by the Steelers. The Titans OL were blue collar and physical as f*ck under Munchack and he commands respect from any O-Lineman ever. He's a hall of famer.

Poor Fat Wade is still campaigning on Twitter. Trying for Pettine's old job.

Detroit got themselves one hell of a douche.

They also upgraded the position, IMO.

The Dolphins GM search is about as comical as the Browns HC hiring process.

Just go away, Wade. What, do you need the money?

Maybe, just maybe, he actually likes doing it. That's not a hard concept to grasp.

Also, Wade is a pretty good DC. Certainly better than some who have jobs right now. He's right to be disappointed about it.

Yep. Turned down twice before finally getting someone to accept the job.
