I have already posted some, and others have posted others, thinking they are defending him against those accusations. I think my opinion is reasonable, just may not be the standard thinking among those who post to this board.

It's a pretty standard Christian position that husbands are the leaders of households and men are leaders of the community.

I think you can say that this position is out of step with mainstream culture. It does not come from a place of mysogyny. Equally ridiculous.

I only had issue with Smitty labeling all liberals like this guy that murdered Kirk and advocating for more violence. I posted my personal opinion about Kirk, he has said many things that justify my opinion of his character I posted quite a few. You may disagree but IMO you are wrong.

I don't think he was a good dude, and he never shared one opinion that I agreed with, but he didn't deserve to be murdered.

If you object to any part of the alphabet people's agenda, be it pronoun madness, drag queens reading to children in libraries or mutilating the genitals of minors, you are a BIGOT.
 
No doubt you can find some quotes that sound a little odd from Kirk, but again, without knowing the context of what point Kirk is making, its impossible to call it racist. Racism has to be about intent, not stating facts.

Is Barack Obama a racist for saying that rural whites "cling to their religion and guns?"

Exactly the same level of "bigotry."

More importantly, if you listen to his entire catalogue, you'll hear plenty of things that definitively prove he is not racist and had love in his heart for all.

That's why 2233 needs to provide context. Otherwise it's too easy to cry racism.

... and he's not gonna do that because instead of arguing he's just gonna say "It's racist because I said so and if you disagree you must be in a cult."
 
Here's the next problem with these accusations 2233 is making.

And this goes back to my larger point about the left being a bigger problem than the right, at the moment. Kirk's point is being made against policies, like DEI, not groups of people (2233 would acknowledge this if he wasn't being dishonest). Or when Kirk says "Taylor Swift, submit to your husband," he is giving her biblical/religious advice that a VERY LARGE percentage of Christians would espouse to. (in fact, if memory serves, he was asked "What advice would you give to Taylor Swift?").

But instead of saying "As a feminist, I don't share that philosophy with Kirk," (which would be completely fair) he cries MYSOGYNIST!

A mysoginist is someone who, definitionally, "hates, has contempt for, or is prejudiced against women."

That isn't Kirk or the Christianity he is espousing. Millions of women in this country believe that very thing that Kirk said. They don't hate themselves. They view their societal role differently. That's it.

This is a religious philosophy, not a hatred of women. It doesn't come from a place of hatred or contempt. It might be misguided. It might not work for you. It might not be a great philosophy that works in the world today. Fine. Please, make those points.

Labeling "mysoginist," though, is lazy, sloppy, incorrect, ignorant and, above all, the genesis of the violence we are seeing in today's society. Yes, it is YOU, 2233Boys, who is the problem. YOU are the party making intolerant, intolerable statements about people that incite violence, not Charlie Kirk.

It's not mysoginist to say what Kirk said. It might be antiquated and incorrect, but it's not mysoginist. To cry mysoginy implies an intent that does not exist but that's what the left always does. Don't agree with our policies? YOU MUST BE FULL OF HATE AND PEOPLE WHO ARE FULL OF HATE CAN'T BE TREATED LIKE REGULAR POLITICAL OPPONENTS, THEY MUST BE SILENCED OR DESTROYED AT ALL COSTS LIKE FASCISTS AND NAZIS. It's exactly the opposite. Kirk was full of love and he was giving the best advice he could come up with from that spot of love. Could his advice have been wrong? Sure. But then SAY THAT!

One of those accusations ("mysoginist") has an inflammatory, discrediting effect, and the other ("antiquated and out of touch"), you have to work much harder to prove and demonstrate why it might be wrong -- but then no one gets riled up about it and flocks to vote for you.

Even more, when you cry "mysoginist," you are actually being the very stereotyping individual that you are claiming to hate. How dare you speak for the millions of Christian women who agree with Kirk? They probably outnumber the "feminists," in this country, still.
