Broncos at Cowboys | Week 5 Game Day Chatter Thread | 10/6/2013

Fact 1: Abstractly a 5 TD, 1 INT game is stellar, by any objective standard
Fact 2: The Broncos scored at will
Fact 3: With both sides scoring on every possession an interception at any point in the game would have similarly affected the outcome.
Fact 4: MIDOL Extended Relief provides relief of menstrual cramps and pain for up to 12 hours. It contains a long-lasting, maximum strength, aspirin-free ingredient.

Fact 5: Romo threw a loss-clinching INT with under 2 minutes left on a throw he did not need to choose.

And actually, your "Fact 3" is not true.

:lol

You do realize that is well after the ball was thrown, right? The guy on the right is already on the ground with the ball. The other two have had a couple seconds to react to the ball.

No, I really doubt that you do.

:lol

NoDak, come on.

There were three defenders closer to Escobar than any other receiver. He was covered, double, triple, or otherwise.

Ok, so an honest question and not just a jab at you cause you're a Garrett apologist. But, why is he the only coach that we never even see converse with the refs? No getting clarification on calls, no yelling and getting animated when he thinks his team is getting jobbed, not lobbying for calls. Nothing.

Easy answer, it's not true. I've seen Garrett converse and argue with the refs.

Why doesn't he do it as often as some other coaches? I don't know, it's not his style I guess. I've never disagreed that he's not robotic.

Where I would disagree is if someone said it would matter. This is not a Jason Garrett era problem, it's been like this for a while now.

You could argue he needs to do it MORE OFTEN, and I might agree, but its not true that he never does it.

By looking at that pic, sure. Go look at the still from when Romo initially started his throwing motion like I talked about earlier. It tells a different story. Two of those defenders were well away from Escobar. One of them, on another receiver.

I will simply say this then I am done with this topic. Without Romo Dallas would have been out of the game in the first quarter. His positive attributes to the team heavily outweighs the negative aspects. Dallas will be in the playoffs this season and it will be largely due to Romo.

Choking away a first round loss, I'm sure.

I remember seeing the angle from behind the LOS and I saw three defenders right there, though two of them were behind Escobar and not in position to outright intercept the pass. But that was two guys providing over the top help and one guy trailing.

It just was a risky pass when a safe one was present.

The sack on first down probably had him thinking he needed to make a bigger play than he actually did.

INT thrown between three defenders.

I mean, it's hard to argue that his positives don't outweigh his negatives, but at the same time.... scoreboard.

Romo is gonna end up like Dan Fouts or something. Great QB who never won anything.

And had to throw around a ref as well

You mean the sack where he literally stood in the pocket for like 10 seconds without moving?

Throw Marino in there while you are at it.

I'd just like it to be known that when I start chatter threads, Romo throws 500 yards and 5 TDs.

And that's it folks. Let's enjoy those gaudy numbers, though.

Wrong.

Marino at least made a Super Bowl. Romo has one fricking wildcard victory and has shit the bed in countless win and in games.

Easy to say when the only other option is Orton. But the problem is that we have tied our cart to Romo and haven't attempted to find a viable replacement and likely won't in the near future either.
