Just watching the replay, I see what Carl was talking about with the INT. Romo had already committed to throwing the ball, and one of his OLmen was walked back and his leg hit Romo's lead leg. He couldn't step forward and get a full throwing motion in. Not excusing the INT, but I can see where it would affect the throw and what Carl was talking about.

Edit: Smith's right foot hit Romo's lead foot. But it did look like maybe Romo could have pulled it down. Who knows. Bang bang play.

Doesn't matter how it happened. It was going to happen whether the pass was going to hit a migrating seagull or not, it was going to happen.

Murray was wide open underneath...should have checked down. I do think that Escobar drifted too deep though.

The problem is that the guy has an awful reputation for doing this far too often, so even if the hit affected the throw, he's never going to get any slack and I'm not sure he really deserves any either.

The saddest thing is that for pretty much all of Romo's gamebreaking picks, you could always preface your comment with with what you just said - "Romo had X guy open......"

Why that even bothers you is beyond me...I don't care how we get there.

It bothers us because him being charge trying to get the credit is the reason we will never get there. It's why we won't hire a legit GM. It's why we won't hire a legit HC and give him any power to run the team.

Not saying he deserves less blame. Just stating what might have caused the throw to come up short. From the endzone view when Romo was starting the throw, it looked like Escobar has some separation. The less than strong throw allowed the guy to dive in and make the INT.

Really? You are piling on the guy, now he does not deserve the blame.

I don't know about Escobars depth since we don't know the route. And credit the DB for making a diving play. It was great.

But Murray was the right pass in that situation.

That was not the point again, but ok.

woo-hoo! Jerry cares about winning! He doesn't care enough to do what it takes to win. But by golly he fricking cares!!!!

We should sign Tim Tebow to be our closer and sub him in for Romo after 5:00 to go in the fourth.

I'm not sure if I'm kidding.

To me it looked like he was drifting from the ball instead of coming back when his QB was pressured. Still you don't make that throw.
