I had one of those and sold it.
Not impressed.
You must be the one out of 10,000 unsatisfied customers. Congrats.

Thanks.
I've used them both, and I'll take this one any day over the BGE.

I'm sure it is just fine and I would enjoy it just like you do.
Nothing wrong with having different smokers/grills for different things, I have my offset for when I'm cooking alot of food, a weber kettle for quick burgers/steaks, and recently got one of the electric box smokers from Lowe's for when I just want to set it and forget itActually, I don't own that. Yet. My brother has that one, and I've used it a couple times. I'm going to order it, but haven't decided yet on this one, or the 20" Wichita model. Probably will just stick with the 16". It's quite a drastic price jump for just a little bit bigger smoker, and an extra rack that I more than likely won't use much.
I have an electric 6 rack Bradley right now. I like it, and it works really well, but I want to go to a stick burner for doing ribs, butts, brisket, etc... The Bradley is awesome for specialty stuff like fatties and whatnot. Also to cold smoke on. I am just a greedy SOB. I must have BOTH!
If I was dropping that much I'd want a reverse flow offset from Klose, but to each his own.
Iamtdg you ever use one of the AMNPS pellet smokers in your electric smoker? I was at Tractor Supply the other day and they had them marked half off so impulse bought one, giving it a try today with a brisket.
I have not. Because of the design, there isn't room in the bottom of my electric smoker for the tray. I can however remove the casing that contains the wood chip tube fairly easily, so let me know how your brisket goes, and I might try it.
Iirc I have the same one as you, the 30" from Lowes. I just left out the water pan and the shelf it slides into and sat the AMNPS on the lowest rack with an aluminum foil tent over it. I'll take a pic when I go check it in a few
This is the one I have. It doesn't have a water pan. It has a small drip pan, but the right side of the bottom of the inside is where the side-loading chute is.

Same one I have, and unless the inside of yours is different the little rectangular pan on left is a water pan
Oh you put it on the bottom shelf. I gotcha now.
EDIT: I went back and reread our conversation and you said that. I'm just an idiot.
Fify
But, mine doesn't have that water pan. Weird.
Here it is just pulled it at 195° IT about to foil wrap and let rest in cooler for hour or so

Cubed the point and its back in the smoker making burnt ends now. AMNPS has been smoking 11 hours now and looks to have least couple hours of pellets left, it gets my seal of approval.
