Adrian Peterson, Vikings agree to restructure contract

On the heels of a rocky offseason, the Minnesota Vikings and Adrian Peterson have re-committed to a long-term partnership.
The team announced Tuesday that the two sides have "mutually agreed" to restructure the final three years of Peterson's contract.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Peterson's new deal will give him more guaranteed money, while bringing down his base salaries, per source involved.
"This agreement is a win for both Adrian and the Vikings and is a positive step toward Adrian finishing his career as a Minnesota Viking," general manager Rick Spielman said in a statement released by the team. "As we have consistently said, Adrian is a valuable part of the Vikings organization and we look forward to his return to the field."
"I appreciate the Vikings for working together on this restructured contract, which provides additional security for me but also allows opportunities for me to further prove my value to the team and within the NFL," Peterson said. "It was important for me to continue my career in Minnesota, and I cannot wait to get on the field in front of Vikings fans again."

The simple answer is that the percentages are the same as they were a few months ago when all the nonsense started and some of us said then they were zip.

That's weird. The eagles are not exactly deep at corner.

Edit: apparently Boykin was disgruntled about not starting. The eagles supposedly weren't enamored with him because he's only 5'9.

Also, reportedly the pick could elevate to a 4th if Boykin gets a certain amount of playing time.

They drafted three of them though and they supposedly like JaCorey Shepherd. I would not say they aren't "deep", just really damn inexperienced now. Should be fun to watch Bryant continue to torch them.

Kelly is simply hellbent on eliminating any player who he inherited. The fact he is so determined to get rid of them this fast tells me that perhaps his program isn't exactly hitting home with veterans who have known something else.

With Chip Kelly having full control over the Eagles' player personnel department, there's no doubt it was his decision to trade Brandon Boykin to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday evening. Now that Boykin is gone, he had some thoughts to share on his former coach. According to Derrick Gunn of CSN Philly, Boykin said the following message in a text:

"The truth is Chip is uncomfortable around grown men of our culture. He can't relate, and that makes him uncomfortable, he likes to be in total control of everything. Players can excel when you naturally let them be who they are and in my experience that hasn't been important to him. I'm forever grateful to Mr. Lurie, Howie, my teammates, and fans of Philadelphia."


Those are strong words.

Boykin isn't the only former Eagles player to criticize Chip Kelly after leaving the team. Earlier this offseason, LeSean McCoy accused Kelly of getting rid of the "good black players" on the team. Former Eagles assistant coach Tra Thomas once said there are players who feel like there's a "hint of racism" in Philadelphia's locker room.

Kelly is set to speak with the media before training camp starts today. There's no doubt he'll be asked about Boykin's remarks.

Maybe so. As someone pointed out on Twitter. Kelly may not be a racist but there are certainly some issues going on within the Eagles locker room.
 


I would grab him in heartbeat but I bet we are just happy with what we have.
