I'm not sure this guy can deliver now. It may be too late for him to get on board. It's possible he is a headcase because of his early failure and all the subsequent injury circumstances that have kept him off the field. He has no reason to have any confidence in himself because to this point he hadn't accomplished anything and has no reason to think he can.

Maybe the league is waiting till week 9 to issue their decision on whether Hardy gets a 10 game suspension.

The league is being smart and shady about it. Drag it out til the season and guarantee he serves a number of games without the courts stepping in to overrule them.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't miss any games while the appeal is pending and if he has to file something with the courts they usually also issue an injunction preventing the suspension until their decision is released.

My guess is that the preliminary ruling has been sent to the league office and they are either disagreeing or stalling.
