Yeah, with the new CBA you can cut people and just designate them a June 1 release. It avoids situations like the McNair deal, where the Titans knew they were going to cut him and locked him out of the facility while he was still technically a part of the team, but the team couldn't risk him getting injured and making the team responsible for his salary.

I have no idea why anyone would consider him a first round prospect. Sounds like he has nothing to backup the statement other then his "gut" which I wouldn't put much faith in. I just don't see Crichton as anything more then a solid NFL DE and he certainly doesn't fit our need of an elite RE pass rusher.
 
Even I think a first for Crichton is high. I'd love him in the 2nd though.

If we pulled a Travis Frederick and traded down to 30 before getting him... Well, if ther return is better than the return last year, I'd live.

What do you love so much about Crichton? I'm just curious because I don't see anything to get excited about with him. Am I missing something? He had what 6.5 sacks last year. He was kind of slow at the combine.

He's an all-around 3 down lineman. Not an elite pass rusher, but he's a starting player who is good at all aspects of the game and he won't get pushed around. He'd be your starting LE, not your RE.

That's worth an early second. I think he's Chris Canty with more pass rush.

Your problem is you only like flash, you have no conceptualization of the importance of the trenches and winning ugly football. I guess everybody else who is ranking Crichton has a solid 2nd is missing something too.
