Of course he is. Hatcher was the best leader we had on the D-line last year and he notched 11 sacks. Marinelli doesn't care about long term cap consequences, he is just trying to get as much talent for next year as he can.

Do you honestly think we relegate Carter to backup duty? I am not sure about that, even if he does deserve it. Just doesn't seem like our style.
 
We did start Sims ahead of him, but that is not much of a competition. Durant was a FA and injury bust too.
