But if they get the long term deal that risk goes away to an extent.

Of course it does but apparently the organization is not in a position to deal with the terms of a long term deal due to cap restraints and other signings that have to be done. If they were Bryant would probably already be signed.

He would almost certainly be cheaper against our cap next year with a long term deal then he would under the franchise tag, so it isn't really cap restraints holding this thing up. Although I guess you could argue it has to do with future cap restraints which is true.
 
I wonder if they are expecting to spend many years in the wilderness looking for a QB post Romo and they don't want to pay Dez to be great on a team with no QB to get him the ball. I doubt it because no team normally plans to suck at their job of finding talent but it makes you wonder.

I don't know but you hate to try and find a young QB and evaluate him while throwing to shitty receivers who can't get open.

The first time Spags used that quote it was to tell a fan that we would not be signing La'Roi Glover, right before we signed La'Roi Glover.

Florio seems to have gone off the deep-end either looking for attention or flatout losing his mind. He is the one that started the rumor about the supposed video that incriminates Dez in something. He stated that all of the "insiders" have known about it for a long time as have the Cowboys brass. Fisher wrote an article stating that he has asked around and no one has heard anything about any tape. Florio could end up taking it up the ass for this one if it turns out to be false.
