Cowboys to sign DT Jeris Pendleton
June, 10, 2013

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys will sign defensive tackle Jeris Pendleton and have him available for this week's minicamp.

Listen Pendleton (6-foot-3, 328 pounds) played in four games last year for Jacksonville and had four tackles. He was a seventh-round pick by the Jaguars in 2012 after a two-year career at Ashland University. A Chicago native, Pendleton was set to go to Michigan State before family obligations led to a six-year hiatus from football. He played two years at Joliet Junior College before transferring to Ashland.

Pendleton will turn 30 on Nov. 7. He was cut by the Jaguars last month.

The Cowboys will have to make a roster move to meet the 90-man limit before they sign Pendleton.

Was there one of those Fourth and Long things this year I missed?

Jerry loves that bargain bin.

Okay. 4 tackles. I got it.

So we signed a 30 year old guy who has one year of experience. Only in Jerry's world does this make any kind of sense.

A 30 yr old guy six year hiatus last experience at powerhouse Ashland University

Believe it.:budd

Good luck finding tape to blow sunshine up our asses with this turd, Broaddus.

Why does Archer even bother with reporting this is what I'm thinking.

Couldn't we get camp competition?

The worst is even if this guy turns up a decent performance, is it worth it at his age? I mean he is basically entering the down side of his career. I mean if you are going to take a shot in the dark on a player why not at least make it a guy who can play a few years if he does pan out. Why sign a scrub with zero upside?
