America's 250th BirthdayThread...

I'll probably never see Breaking Bad so I'll take your word for whatever quality of actor he is. I don't know the guy or his work.

And sure it's ok that he has whatever opinions he has.

My issue is when he uses his opinions to attempt to subvert the history, integrity, and recognition of the greatness of this country. And what's worse is that in service of that, he is protecting and promoting the festering blight that is communism.

He can go fuck himself. Him and his dumb pop can leave if he's got the sads that McCarthy (who was right by the way) hurt the fee fees of evil commies that have attempted to ruin the greatness of this country.
I don’t see much from what he said other than the final words from his father. But I do not find offense to it. That is what we are about. He can say that.

Looks like Schoolhouse Rock was glorifying colonialism :rolleyes

And what he said there didn't even make sense to me. McCarthy was right, but he was too mean in saying it, therefore he was actually wrong?

He was certainly right about there being communist subversion going on here but he just kind of lashed out at people the way cancel culture does today. Many of his claims were unsubstantiated and ruined peoples careers.

Nothing screams the Fourth to me more than when I pull the brisket late after everyone is hot dogged and burgered out and my fat cousin-in-law is able to figure it out.

He did not approve of the tactics he used in rooting out Commies.

Now, fuck they just hold a press conference and tell your ass.

Almost 30 years ago an air force guy from England told me something similar about how different we are. He said, "In Europe, the attitude is, "Who are you to want to be better than anyone else? Who do you think you are?"

Watching Independence Day because there is nothing else on and the 250th is at a lull right now, and I have to say, it holds up fairly well.
