"College" season starts in a week, no better time to brush up on the 2027 prospects in what should be one of the best first rounds in years.

I'm particularly focused on OT (Lauck and Seaton in particular) and DT (Scott, Echoles, Stone, Moten, Washington). There are a freaky number of safeties listed in this group (6), which I hope holds somewhat since obviously we won't be taking safety high. I also think this is an interesting RB class, although I doubt I'd take one in the first.

Could also be an interesting year to take a QB in the 20's to groom behind Prescott.

Taking a macro-view, Smith and Moore could arguably be the best prospects at their positions in 10-20 years, if 2-3 of the QB's and 2-3 of the "others" (Stewart, Simmons, Coleman) live up to the hype this could easily be a historically great top 10 with 4-5 HOF'ers, similar to 1989, 2011 and 2021.

He really improved in the second half of the season last year and was a completely different QB at the end than he was the start of the year.

He's also been sharp in camp this summer.

I think he has a really good shot to be a top flight QB before it's all said and done.

If that happens he'll be a lock to go number 1 and nobody will even consider trading that pick.

Our best bet, assuming we're in the 20ish range, is to move up a little bit for someone like Carr, although even that's unrealistic as nowadays if a QB is good enough to go in the 10-15 range, he's probably going top 5.

If Pickens isn't going to be back I'm looking hard at the WRs. If they are going to refuse to pay 2 WRs than the only solution is a cheap/talented guy on a rookie contract for the remainder of Lamb's career.

Yeah it's never happening unless our team tanks due to a Dak injury or something. And even then we need the Packers to also tank.

Until further notice I'm assuming Pickens will be back now that he's being a good soldier, but yes if he's gone WR is a top priority, although it doesn't have to be in the first necessarily depending on how Flournoy looks this year.

Yea it's really hard to say, they obviously can't really negotiate right now anyway (at least not publicly) and have said how they want him to be here for a long time repeatedly.

They said similar things about Parsons too though, so I don't put too much into that.

Right now I keep coming back to the idea that it's hard to see them letting him go if Pickens has a similar or better season than he did last year, and also continues to do/say the right things. Dak will push to keep him and if the idea is to try to win something before Jerry is dead in 5 years, you kind of have to keep him given where Dak is at in his career.
