I just think OT's were getting badly overdrafted. There were probably shittier ones that went in the third round. But that doesn't mean we should take an OT just because. This team seems to have a blind spot on day three of the draft. They have for awhile. And I think part of that blind spot is this need they feel to always draft a "developmental" OT. And basically it hasn't worked out since Doug Free.

Has nothing to do with training camp. My optimism comes from what they did in the offseason with the coaching changes and how they went about it this time, and the draft. TC bluster doesn’t move the needle for me.

I just feel like I've seen the movie before, a lot. Dallas seems to do things closer to what successful teams do, then it unravels like clockwork somewhere, somehow. An injury the paper think depth chart can't cover, overestimation of quality at a position (pass rush this year I predict), or just plain bad fucking luck.

Training camp doesn't get me there. Now once games start if we kick ass that's when I start getting excitement. Right now, I'm sort of in, I think we are a year away mode. A year away from having a great defense anyway. But hopefully Parker can work quickly. I just think it's going to take one more offseason for that side of the ball.

I have no reason to doubt the offense. But I worry that they could take a slight step back.

Everything I have seen is that he is predominantly listed as “long shot” to make their active roster.

Lookit, we all understand that you know the player, okay? And we can overlook your apparent biases.

But making the team versus long shot is a big difference unless you can provide a reputable source (no Bleacher Report) that can attest to what you are asserting as “apparent”.

You will do this now, @Smitty.

Hell, even a good regular season doesn't get me there anymore after watching playoff collapses in 07, 09, 14, and 16.
 
It's pretty huge that by all accounts Bland seems 100% with no limitations and looks good.
