It was way too early, IMO, but you've gotta believe the Cowboys had the pulse of the league to think Shelton was on enough other teams' radars that they needed to draft him where they did.
But man, there was clear talent on the board, especially at CB. What are we missing most on defense? Pass Rusher, CB.
If Shelton isn't at least our swing tackle in 2027, we fucked up.
I just think OT's were getting badly overdrafted. There were probably shittier ones that went in the third round. But that doesn't mean we should take an OT just because. This team seems to have a blind spot on day three of the draft. They have for awhile. And I think part of that blind spot is this need they feel to always draft a "developmental" OT. And basically it hasn't worked out since Doug Free.
