2026 Season | Week 8 | Gameday Chatter Thread | Cardinals @ Cowboys | 11/01/2026

It shows that Schottenheimer is just kind of an idiot.

He thought he was tricking Arizona by going with a heavy formation and then passing out of it, when it was obvious as day based on the timeout/clock situation that passing was a real possibility, if not the most likely call.

Just put your weapons in and hope it works out.

Garrett was book smart but just not that football smart, at least not at the level required to be a top tier HC/playcaller. I think Schottenheimer is both not football smart and just kind of an idiot in general.

I didnt think that there would be anybody that I could hate more than Garrett but leave it to Jerry to find a way.

In the more than 22 years we have been a board, I have never seen the board this quiet after a game, especially after a loss. Normally, when we lose, the board is 10 pages deep by the next day. I think there is a massive amount of ambivalence/give-up going on right now among most Cowboys fans. I know that's how I feel right now. I'm pissed and don't give a shit all at the same time which essentially results in ambivalence.

If this fool coach is back next year is anybody watching next season?

I know it's kind of cliche for an angry fan to say "I'm not watching anymore if XYZ happens/doesn't happen", but as someone who has barely missed a game in my entire life, I can confidently say I won't watch anything beyond a few of the night games once everybody is asleep next year.

But as a football team in all three phases, I can point out 3, 4, 5, 6 plays right off the top of my head but I’m not going to do that.”

All he does it steadily blame the players. "Yes, I may have made a couple of smalls mistakes that I'm gonna work on and stuff, but, Jesus, did you see how bad those players sucked?"

If the Baltimore and Tampa games hadn't happened I wouldn't have blamed Schottenheimer too much for today.

The insistence on the interior run game was idiotic, but given the score and how strong it was last week I could understand it to an extent, same with some of the conservative playcalling.

The defense was undoubtedly the first, second and third reason that we lost and it was honestly one of the worst defensive displays I've ever seen out of this team, right up there with that bullshit last year in week 2 against the Giants.

But he definitely was shitty and given how badly he shit the bed previously, you have to give him a huge amount of blame.

I don’t think the problem is cheese eating - it’s that they aren’t prepared to play by the staff.
This was a collection of in-game errors in play calling and sloppy stupid play more than preparation. Jones harped to Schottenheimer’s kid that winning the TO battle was the key and he coached like a sissy faggot to avoid risk.
