SOM Press Conference:

  • Tale of two halves for sure. We have to learn how to finish in all three phases. Gotta get stops on defense, had chance to put game away, had FG chance at end of half.
  • I wouldn't think we were too conservative on offense. We were trying to get running game established. Cardinals defense did some nice things
  • We had a big pass to George Pickens called back. Cardinals defense did a good job mixing up coverages. Had some chances, need to convert
  • Tough question to answer about why we can't string together wins. We need to close games out
  • Still a lot of football left. The character of the guys in the locker room is right. Lots of football left. Again, tale of two halves and second half didn't finish it.
  • Believe in our staff and players still. We played well against Philadelphia, played well 1st half today. Gotta go take a look at the film

Sham in his old age has gotten to be a real pollyanna, acting like fans should just be happy to watch a game and who cares that much whether you win or not.

Today he sounded about as negative as I've heard in a long time.
 
That was an awesome midair goalline over-the-pile dive and collision. KC - Den

Denver RB stopped at the 1 yard line.
 
Jerruh Press Conference:
  • Had numerous chances to win and didn't do it. I know our fans are disappointed. We came out second half and were shadow of ourselves. Nothing to point to but we just weren't a good team
  • To go from here, you just show up. You evaluate and go forward. This presents a challenge -- being hit on the nose or knocked down, this is difficult to overcome. Players, coaches, me. Really is glaring in a negative way of where we were and still lost the game. Had a chance to win at the end and didn't convert. There were games within the game and didn't play well enough. Indictment of the whole show
  • We'll take a good hard look. We haven't had a lot of games where we've played well, then didn't play well.
  • I don't have anything to say about our decisions other than that you've gotta work at it to be in position to win the ballgame. In my mind, we had three or more situations to win it and didn't.
  • If you get the ball in the hands of the people you go to and we didn't win it. Best FG kicker in the country but didn't get him in position at the end of regulation.
  • Not looking to make a change.
  • Main thing in my mind is we tee it up to win those spots. We didn't get it. We really didn't play well in the second half. Got a reprieve and should've nailed it.
  • None of us are getting it done, not just Schotty. I haven't been involved in too many games where we should've won it and didn't.
  • We certainly felt that the way the OL played last week and running the ball last week, we felt in OT that the result was disappointing.
