2026 Season | Week 7 | Gameday Chatter Thread | Cowboys @ Eagles | 10/27/2026

I think that was a little conservative, but in general I agree. People are mad at the coach, so now every tiny thing has to be scrutinized with an electron microscope. I don't think that call was that bad. Not everything has an absolutely right or wrong answer. Sometimes either is okay.

I agree with you but this is the exact tactic people used against Garrett literally all the time. Dissect every last judgement call.

Special player, not that far off Parsons and he even might be slightly better when you consider the all around game, the only issue is that our defense is still a dysfunctional mess in large part.

Trading for him is one of the few things they've done right defensively in the last few years.

Eh.

I’m not sure I agree. I don’t think he’s Parsons level.

I know it’s victory week but I’m not really any more up on this team at all.

They let an injury riddled offensive team that’s basically quitting on its season put up 21 and hang around for three quarters. I’m not sure that’s all that much better than the Tampa performance as those guys clearly had not quit.

The defensive performance wasn't any better, it was just that the offensive performance was orders of magnitude better.

I'm pretty sure if the offense had been as good against Tampa as they were last night we'd have won the Tampa game easier than last night's game.

Quinnen also can stay healthy. That is a big boost for him over Parsons.

Yea, I try not to lean on that too much because nobody could've foreseen that happening when he was traded, but I wouldn't trade Quinnen for Parsons straight up right now given the injury and that in my opinion Parsons was always a guy who would burn out sort of early once his insane explosiveness/athleticism starts to fade.

I also hate this narrative of "the Dallas defense never recovered after trading Parsons".

Did people completely forget the first half of 2024 when the defense was just as bad, maybe even worse than it is now?

The only difference then was we had a legitimate DC in Zimmer who got them sort of headed in the right direction in the second half of the season.

I agree with this.

Nice to beat Philly but there’s no real chest thumping here if you’re honest about things. Philly down their starting QB, both WRs, OL still trying to get in sync, and Barkley running on a pitch count. We finally put them away late 3rd quarter but a competent D and 16-20 points and this thing was over. But nah, this is Jerry’s Cowboys.

Our secondary outside of Porter is horrendous and the lack of a pass rush is scary bad. LB play is a bit better but RB nobody’s are still ripping off 7-8 yard runs once they clear the LOS.

I’m really confused on what the brain trust thinks they see every training camp when it comes to defense the last 4 or 5 years.
