That has to be a one read play there. A sack or penalty ends the game before we could tie with the FG. We backed ourselves into a corner and had no choice but to go with a quick one read play.

Of course. That's why I don't blame Dak -- it's not his call.

But I think Jerry has a pathological need to be loved by his star players, and this is part of it.

Exactly.

The excessive running down of the clock a few plays earlier is what put us in that bind to begin with and I think that hurt even worse than Schoon's false start because even at the 3 yard line with 20 seconds and one time out on 3rd down, we could only run so many plays in that situation.

This is also true. There would have been plenty of time to drain the clock. But you fisted yourself by doing it too early.

Did the same shit right before halftime in terms of letting about 10-12 seconds run for no good reason.

The guy does not have what it takes to be a HC in this league, period.

He was angling slightly back toward the line of scrimmage as he went out so they marked forward progress inbounds like they do sometimes.
 
This team will never win anything as long as Jerry Jones is in charge. These guys are a traveling circus with no discipline. It’s a penalty fest every week and Jerry doesn’t put enough talent on the field to overcome it. It would be one thing if Jerry was good at acquiring talent but he’s not. We dont even contend for the division anymore. It’s a bad product. The Skins and Giants dont even have healthy QBs and we still can’t take advantage of it.

We'd need a literal All Star team to overcome the bullshit Jerry does between hiring complete joke HC's (excluding McCarthy) and the demented culture surrounding the team.

Even then I'm not sure an All Star team could win a Super Bowl in any random season with the slop HC's they hire more often than not.

My point isn't who might be better or worse, it's that for all intents and purposes they're both the same flavor of shit, and knowing that this team is right back where it was during the Garrett years is rock bottom.

It doesn't matter if we win the next 5 games in a row, there's no hope of doing anything except maybe winning one lucky playoff game against a shitty opponent before getting railroaded by the Rams or whoever.

And in all likelihood we'll be a 8 or 9 win team and they'll run this shit back again next year, only to win another 8 or 9 games, just like Garrett's first three years.
 
Atleast fat mike got the team to the playoffs. We got worse in the coaching department. We are softer than we were before.
