2026 Season | Week 1 | Gameday Chatter Thread | Cowboys @ Giants | 09/13/2026

Double use of flinch.

If Christian Parker is anything close to what he was hyped up to be I doubt he needs Schotty telling him anything.

This is the problem with not playing all these defensive guys in preseason. We could have been correcting this shit weeks ago. But instead we are now trying to correct it after the first game any of these guy have played together.

I don't have a problem holding most of the offense out of preseason. Same scheme, same players, wasn't much to gain. But the defense is a work in progress that we could have started weeks ago.

They were supposed to be getting help from a defense that was "at least average" but was instead a discombobulated mess on many drives.

They have to realize that potential more quickly. They are one standout player away-- either at EDGE or CB

Stephen……is that you????

The first play there is the one I've been talking about with Bland.

The Giants are on their own 46, Bland is lined up 8 yards off the LOS, within 2 seconds of the snap he has his back to the LOS and is running damn near full speed the opposite direction, 20 god damn yards off the LOS.

There's literally no other receiving target on that side of the field, for anybody to even get to that part of the field they'd have to run a crosser all the way across the field from the opposite side and get 25-30 yards downfield, which would take probably at least 4-5 seconds.

That leaves a cavernous hole between Ezeiruaku, a god damn edge rusher, and Bland because he's bailing all the way downfield. Then you see the exact same thing happen either 1-2 plays later (second play of the clip) with Durant.

Either the players have no idea what they're doing on that technique, because they should be at least 5 yards closer to the LOS at the time the ball is thrown in kind of a muddy look they're reading the WR while keeping an eye on anybody coming from the opposite side, ready to push up if the route combos on the other side aren't doing much.

I have no idea if the players are idiots, if the coaches have no idea what they're teaching, or both, but this is basic stuff and the same inability to play a simple technique is what took the Giants all the way down the field on that drive. It was almost the exact same thing as the 3-4 swing passes in a row, where the Giants saw our secondary/LB's leaving huge gaps unoccupied and just went to it with the simplest of plays 3-4 times in a row.

These dudes like Thompson, Locke and Winters were handpicked and did not do so good.

It's amazing how these guys are competent starters in SF or even stars, and then as soon as they leave they look like complete morons, and then immediately are back to solid or better players once they return (Deebo, Greenlaw).

Almost as if there's some sort of festering rot in certain organizations.

At least on the Durant one I think his spacing was better, he just got straight up beat with the move. Your hope is that Downs gets more depth that but Downs was put in a bind with the RB in front of him. If he gets too deep that's an easy pass to the RB for a big gain.
