I don't think Schottenheimer acquitted himself well last night, but Parker is the coach that is squarely in my crosshairs right now. That defense looked completely lost and Parker looks over his head.

And this is starting to become a thing with Schotty where he comes out conservative depending on the opponent, circumstances, and every single time it's bitten us in the ass.

We already endured an entire fucking decade of a HC who never learned from his mistakes so the last thing I want is ANYTHING the resembles that buffoon.

Yea Schottenheimer wouldn't be a HC anywhere else so that definitely tracks.

When you hire a guy partially because it makes Jerry comfortable you're going to get clown shit like this.

We knew that pass rush would be an issue since they have no real established rushers and it’ll be a cold day in hell when we are coordinated enough to generate a cohesive pressure system where everyone chips in like Seattle.

The run defense with Williams, Clark, Ogbonnia and extra LB Downs was very, very concerning.

Like I said last night, I have never liked this trend where starters don't play at all in the preseason.

Expecting training camp and practice against your own teammates where there's no real tackling or hitting to be all the preparation your team needs for the season is just retarded to me.

So even if other teams sat their starters and didn't play them and yet ultimately did ok yesterday, that still won't make me feel any better about us sitting our starters because we had so many new starters, a new DC, and an entirely new scheme which all would have greatly benefited from the preseason reps.

It kind of has to. Everybody that was banging a gong about how much of a contender we are a week ago has to view this as rock bottom. Otherwise they have to admit they got sucked. Hell look at the start of this abomination of a thread.

I mean, obviously a loss is always “possible” but I didn’t think there was any realistic chance we lose this game, with what our offense should have been capable of.

And with even a modicum of competence on D.

We got neither of those things.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with him at all last night.

The one bad throw he made wasn't a poor decision so much as a lack of arm strength to get the ball all the way out of the field of play.

And if Pickens catches that perfectly thrown deep ball just a few plays before, that INT never happens.

Even with the offense starting slow if we had anything resembling a competent defense last night we'd have had a solid shot.

The defense twice had chances to get a stop in the second half to give the offense the ball back down one score and gave up a TD both times, just like last year.

Nah. I'm not saying it was bad but it certainly wasn't what I'd call playing well. That INT was a huge momentum shifter and it was a dumb throw.

He was fine and certainly not an issue generally but to suggest he was the second best QB of week 1 is ridiculous (not you, the original tweet about QBR).

And yeah, fuck Schotty......I know he's just happy to have the job but there is a way to talk to Jerry about the importance of making sure everyone is as prepared as they can possibly coming into the year, so I don't want to hear any BS on how he had to just go with what Jerry wanted.

Not playing these guys in preseason was a massive blunder.
