Semi-vulgar celebration by St. Brown.

Olson keeps saying, "We have the benefit of instant replay" but that PI was obvious in real time imo.

The commentating has just gotten so bad. Yesterday in the Tech game, the booth was 0-6 when they said "It looked _______ from up here". No exaggeration. They didn't get a single one right.

Penalty if you remove your helmet off in celebration, but what about a Guardian cap?

At their own 40, down by 6. 4th and inches and Texans just got more inches for a close first down.

Metcalf with the bad, bad drop

I love it when a big boy scores a TD. The other fat boys celebrate like crazy because one of their own scored. :lol

I've never understood that expression. Who's fucking their dog?
“Fuck the dog” (sometimes “fuck the dog and sell the pups”) started as World War I U.S. Army slang for wasting time or goofing off while looking busy. A 1918 hospital newsletter already lists the euphemism “feeding the dog” for killing time. By 1935 it appears in print in Jack Conroy’s novel A World to Win. Over the following decades it also picked up the meaning “to botch something badly.”

“Screw the pooch” is the version that stuck for the “catastrophic blunder” sense. The earliest documented printed uses are from the late 1970s.

In short: military loafing slang from World War I → later sense of “major screw-up” → polite variant that NASA/test-pilot circles and then Tom Wolfe popularized in the late 1970s.
