Not really. It is odd he got in the wreck 10 days ago and nothing was heard about it until now.

Shanahan may have been on his cell phone because the officer saw him holding it.
Even if he wasn't using his phone, it seems like it's illegal just to hold it while driving.
But it doesn't seem to have affected the accident and the officer chose not to charge him.
This just seems like a whole lot of nothing.
I still see huge percentages of people on their phones in their cars.
In fact, I'm positive that's to blame for the hoards of dumbasses who take 10-12 seconds to go when the light turns green.
