2026 Random NFL Stuff Thread…

But we wouldn't have drafted George. It did cost us Cortez Kennedy or Junior Seau.

Trivia, do people know who we drafted with the picks we got from New Orleans? One was pretty great, so it worked out. But the other two I barely remember hearing of.
Oh definitely no way we draft that mulleted retard, but I think we’d have traded the pick to the Colts and taken ‘Tez.

Splitting hairs between HOFers, but if you have the opportunity to take Kennedy you take him. Pre 1990 draft, that was a critical position of need-- the foundation of the defense. If you had to draw up a DT from scratch he'd basically be Cortez Kennedy.

There's also the Miami connection with Jimmy.

Both had HOF careers their biggest impact with one team, though Seau, more flamboyant overall, had a better career and gained a second life in New England after a stint in Miami.

Yeah you'd have to wonder how it would have all turned out if Jimmy had made the trade to move up to draft Cortez in 1990 instead of trading up to draft Maryland the following year, of course not giving consideration to Emmitt.

Yeah, Kennedy was way better than Maryland. Maryland was solid enough but kind of meh for a #1 overall pick.
