2026 Random NFL Stuff Thread…

And, they still look just as stupid.

Why stop with that ridiculous helmet. Put them all in inflatable Sumo suits as well. There's a lot of ways to make people "safer" if you don't mind your product looking like a joke. Bouncy house castle? No running?

The NFL is all about optics, and they think this looks like they are doing something about concussions. I haven't kept up with the latest on the guardian caps, but the problem with concussions is the brain slamming against the inside of the skull. How does this help that? I'm sure someone smarter than me has said it does. Space age materials I'd wager. Look, if you put enough of padding around their head, it will eventually work. That's great, can't wait to see what that looks like.

Anyway, yeah the NFL cares...that's why they'll keep adding games to the regular season just so they can line their pockets with money.

Won't be surprised if that eventually happens. They can't do it right away because fans would rebel. But in a gradual, frog-in-boiling-water manner? Wouldn't doubt if we get there.

The funny part is it looks like a child's solution and not some cutting edge technology. You might as well take a pillow and strap it to the top of their heads. These things feel more like something straight out of a cartoon and less like something specially designed.

It's honestly insane looking back at that Elliott suspension, they gave him 6 games based on nothing but what one single woman said, allegations which the league's own investigator questioned the validity of.

He would've led the league in rushing that year if he played the whole season, based on what he did over the other 10 games, and led the league in rushing his first 3 years in the league.

It's why I don't really bash the FO for the pick, he was a dominant back for a good 5 year stretch who gassed out a little early because of workload. If we had a real HC in 2016 or 2018 we probably would've made the SB, largely due to how good he was.

Still pisses me off.
