2026 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread...

Yeah I mean I like Flournoy. But you'd definitely want a strong third receiver if you're going to rock with Flournoy in a #2 type role.

Downs would be the 2, Flournoy the 3, the idea would be we could get by with an elite 1, a decent 2, and a potentially very good to elite 3.

I think doing something like that would take way too much foresight on the part of the brain trust though, they'll likely just roll with Lamb, Flournoy, Mingo and hope the draft falls right.

I think I like Flournoy better than Downs.

And just an FYI, they basically have the same amount of yards this year. And Flournoy has way better competition for targets. But ultimately they would be like a 2a and a 2b as not ideal second receivers but probably great third receivers.

And then there is the Schmitty factor of homering. Not sure I could handle it.

I say again, CeeDee had his best year and the offense was incredible the year Brandin Cooks was the 2 and Tolbert or Gallup (can't remember) was the 3.

I think a guy like Downs or a young guy would be just fine. If only we hadn't given away or worsened (Broderick Jones) our draft picks. :(

I'm not so sure that we'd be fine with a 3rd round rookie, it'd have to be the 1st/2nd to have any realistic hope of seeing immediate impact in my opinion.

Which is why I like the idea of Downs, he knows how to play, he's kind of similar to Cooks stylistically and I think there's some untapped potential there given the shit offenses he's been on.

Feh on Flournoy being better.

The Colts offense has been a mess for a while now, particularly the passing game, so it's hard to attribute too much to his statistical production.

I'd be surprised if Flournoy ever put up something along the lines of what Downs did earlier in his career with a line of like 70/800/5.

I think they'd be a decent pairing behind an elite 1 like Lamb though that wouldn't break the bank. I assume Downs could be had for like 4/60.

Definitely, since we don't have anyone in the pipeline.* But even if you can't get Downs, there would have to be someone similar out there who doesn't cost a fortune. But I do like Downs -- smart, solid, not a drama queen.

If we look to the draft to replace Pickens keep an eye on Nick Marsh from Indiana.

He's big and physical so he'd fit as a replacement from that perspective, but he's also known for being extremely tough and physical as a blocker, which our dumbo HC just called Pickens out for.

I don't like the idea of taking a WR in the first but they might paint themselves into that corner.

Aside from a couple of games (one against Tennessee) Daniel Jones' production at qb has been anemic, so he might look a lot better here.

I'll bet he blocks too.

That's the kind of WR I love. Maybe not a superstar but so what, he'll do the dirty work and be dependable.

At least you know they're coached right there. Speaking of that, even that white boy Becker is impressive.

Becker is probably the better prospect but I don't think we'll be picking high enough for him, if we are I think they'd definitely be interested.

Let's not forget the rumors this past draft of us loving Tyson, plus bringing in Cooper for a 30 visit. If they let Pickens go I think there's at least like a 40% chance they go WR.
