Didn't BS say in the PC he's more of a front seven guy where obviously Parker is more secondary?

Yeah and our front seven has been very underwhelming.

Parker is in way over his head so any improvements to any aspect of the defense will go a long way in improving the overall play of the unit as a whole.
 
Just remembered... pretty sure SDogo claimed Pettine was a pal somehow.

The Own's inside info is going to be even more next level.
 
Speaking of the front 7, I read somewhere that we're one of the most frequent at calling stunts and twists but yet we're giving up the most yards when we do.

If we're so bad at it, why does Parker keep calling them.

I think this also explains why we're not getting the most out of Williams.

When he's played well? He's just killing the guy in front of him.

When he's not? It's when he's playing as a DE or being asked to do something other than what he's dominant at.

It's not rocket science.
 
I’m rewatching the press conference. Brian is very nervous at the start, chugging water. Lots of double speak and insistence that they’ve been looking at a doing a move like this since the offseason. I think that’s a questionable truth but who knows.

This last game clearly put some serious pressure on them to make the move now.

He mentioned Pet would be involved in all facets but mentioned the front 7 specifically, which I think is an important note, because the rest of the press conference he was dancing around the questions and looking down at the table and not saying anything of value except soft language so as not to throw Parker under the bus I guess.
 
I forgot to add that he said back before the season they were talking about 2 names they were interested in that didn’t work out, that supposedly would have been employed in this capacity. Implementation and support of Parker’s defense. He wouldn’t list the names.

Pettine was not one of those two. Said they were insistent on hiring the right person as far as relationships with Brian and Parker.

So I assume those other 2 were people they had worked with in the past as well.
