Poor Holden, he knew it when he dropped that punt too. Head down, towel covering his face. He probably knew he was on the block and hadn't done enough in practice and was trying to make a splash.

He really had no chance at the roster. I did think he had a chance at the practice squad. But my guess is they are trying to give him an opportunity with another team.

MVS is who I would cut. Guy is a veteran and he looks worse than the undrafted rookie WR's we have out there. I'm not really sure what the point of keeping him around is.

And they'd owe MVS his whole salary day one as a veteran. As a courtesy I'd let him go as soon as I could to give him a better chance with another team.

They have to have worn through most of the 50 coats of Jerry teflon on Mingo right now.

What's he done besides catch a runaway returner from behind? I'd still try and stash both him and Anthony Smith on the PS, but that's the extent of it. We've found our starting five.

Yeah Mingo caught I think two slant passes from Howell. Mingo just doesn't do much other than slants and fly routes and he isn't explosive enough to really get separation on either. I don't mind Mingo but at the end of the day, I don't want to see him on the field at receiver once the season starts. If he makes it to the practice squad ok, but if he doesn't I'm ok with that too. He has been in the NFL long enough to know he just is what he is.

This is his 4th season and he has yet to do anything that separates him from the other guys. I don't even want him on the practice squad; I think the young guys we have will be fine.

Yeah I don't hate him but I can just recognize he isn't going to be an NFL receiver.
 
Semi-sticking to my theory that Jerry's health isn't great... He didn't look good at the training camp PC.

Or, he's just being a carnival barker like usual.

I'm starting to think it might be worse when he dies. I have nothing to back this up, but I think Jerry is the only reason we are spending now. I think he overrules Stephen sometimes, and when Jerry is gone, the whole organization will get cheap with Stephen making the ultimate calls.

Probably, but the cheapness might be offset by overall better decisions and not being such a three ring circus...

Oh, I do think it will be less of a circus. Hell, Stephen might even install curtains. But, being cheap might result in the same, if not worse, results than we have seen the last 30 years.
 
We need LB and CB help as far as I'm concerned.

While pass rush remains an unknown, I do believe we have legitimate talent there and it's not out of the realm of possibility that one of those guys becomes a double digit sack guy.

But we have no real talent at LB and even if Overshown stays healthy and becomes a good player, it's still not enough.

I honestly would kick the tires on Bobby Wagner because I don't think it would hurt.

And I think Revel has a chance to be good but we could use some experience at that position.

We need a backup RB far more than we need window dressing at CB and LB.

Williams’ running style will expose him to injury and honestly we have shit in reserve, no matter how hard we are crossing our fingers on Blue and MaFEH.

For sure, Overshown (if healthy) and Winters are both competent starters, we have a promising rookie in Barham and I trust someone like James to start a game or two than I do Blue or Mafah.

At CB we actually have plenty of depth if these Revel reports are true, especially since Downs will be playing a good amount of slot.
